Welcome to the official entry site for the 2018 Canadian Community Newspaper Awards! Once again, we have partnered with Newspaper Toolbox to provide you with an online entry website to make the process of entering the contest quicker and easier. How it Works:
Step 1 - Account Set-Up: Once you are on the entry site, you will need to create an account for this competition. Click on Create an Account Now in the login area on the left. You will be asked to select the name of your newspaper from the drop down menu and fill out your contact information.
You will only need to enter this information once regardless of how many categories you choose to enter. Upon submitting your account information, an email will be sent to you to confirm your temporary username and password for this contest. Take note that this username and password can be changed at any time by simply clicking on My Account.
Step 2 - Understanding Your Entries Page: When you log in for the first time with your temporary username and password, you will end up on your entries page. This page is the one you will refer to whenever you want to submit new entries, edit contest entries that have already been submitted, upload files, or proceed to the payment of these entries. Submitted entries can be modified up to the contest entry deadline - not after the deadline has passed.
Step 3 - Submitting Entries: Simply follow the step-by-step instructions for submitting each entry and uploading your material. There are several file formats available for you to upload your entries. Objective of the Competition:
This national awards program celebrates the very best in community publishing from across the country. Newspapers compete against each other in similar circulation classes and are judged by a panel of industry experts. With a diverse range of awards categories - covering writing, photography and multimedia - the Canadian Community Newspaper Awards offer learning opportunities for publications of all shapes and sizes.
Entrants must be non-daily community newspapers published in Canada and containing content of a general nature for a Canadian audience. To be eligible for member rates, the publication must be a general or associate member of News Media Canada in good standing.
In addition, there is a separate division for Campus Newspapers, which is open to all newspapers serving post-secondary institutions across Canada.
All entries and payment should be submitted by Monday, April 30, 2018.

Earlybird Draw (NMC Members Only):
NMC Members with all entries submitted by Friday, April 13, 2018 will be eligible to be entered into a draw for a chance to win back their cost of entry. Contestants must have all entry fees paid in full to be eligible for the prize.
